Day two

September 9th, 2006 at 04:34 am

Day three and payday. I've managed to spend just $5.00 in three days and I'm not really missing it...yet. The real test is getting through the weekend intact.
I have included in my budget a weekly amount to put toward my debt and to save for a rainy day.
I have even included a way to include my wife in my saving method and to make it somewhat of a challenge as well. I ask her to pick a nunber within a certain range, at least 20 and no more than 40 . The number she picks is what I challenge myself to save every week. She doesnt know that these numbers will add up to a nice vacation next year (after all my debt is gone)

Yes. She picks a different number every week. Sometimes the range might change as well. If I work some serious overtime (like I did last week, the numbers may be betwen 20 and 100. Naturally, any low number would have a few extra bucks added to it after an overtime week.

I wish you well on your endeavours. Last October after paying off the last of our debt I surprised hubby with a week long family holiday. At first he was shocked and a bit worried about how we were going to pay for it but when I showed him the nil bal on the visa and our current cheque account balance that was more than enough to pay for the trip he was thrilled. We all had a wonderful time.
